Science and Interdisciplinarity

The Frontiers of Life Sciences Bachelor degree (FdV Bachelor) is aimed at students who are passionate about science in general, and life sciences in particular, and who are also attracted by the world of research and the place of science in society.

The programme is based on a common core of mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science and biology in order to approach life sciences in all their facets. It is supplemented by courses covering philosophy and the history of science, didactics and ethics, engineering, as well as modules dedicated to the acquisition of cross-disciplinary skills.

In addition, each student is able to colour his or her course according to his or her aspirations during the open courses and internships. During the interdisciplinary projects weeks, the knowledge and skills acquired are put into practice to address issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the United Nations.
